Climate Change and Adaptation

SCI is positioned to partner with both local and international organizations to promote climate change adaptation through environmental conservation programs and agro production. This objective will be realized through the following: i. Enhancing environmental conservation and livelihoods through agro -forestry - Support sustainable tree planning initiatives and fruit growing to conserve our environment and sustain livelihoods - Promote large scale production of high yielding crops for the market and for domestic consumption. - Strengthen post-harvest management, value addition and marketing of products like maize, cassava sweet potatoes and bananas. - Promote sustainable production and use of organic manure by prospective farmers in the community to increase crop yield. ii. Promoting renewable energy in the communities of West Nile - Strengthen capacities of women in promoting renewable energy through skills development in high quality energy saving stove production. - Briquet production.

About Selfless Compassion Initiative
Selfless Compassion Initiative (SCI) is a registered Indigenous Non-Governmental Organization (INGO) dedicated to supporting individuals with mental health challenges in the West Nile communities. Founded by a passionate group in 2023, SCI transitioned from a Community Based Organization (CBO) to an INGO in 2024. We aim to provide meaningful support to adolescents, women, and men facing social problems, unemployment, and drug abuse.
