SCI in participation in Celebrating International Youth Day at Logiri Sub county, Arua District with the theme of Youth Advancing Socio Economic change through Technology and Partnership

This year's National Youth Day was a powerful testament to the potential of young people as catalysts for community transformation. Under the national theme, "Youth Advancing Socio-Economic Change Through Technology and Partnership," Selfless Compassion Initiative joined forces on 5th September 2025 with the vibrant youth of Logiri Sub-County, Arua District, for a day of learning, dialogue, and action.
The event, held at  Logiri Sub County Grounds was a vibrant gathering that brought together young entrepreneurs, students, community leaders, and tech enthusiasts to explore how modern tools and collaborative spirit can drive development in our communities.
Key Highlights from the Day
The celebration was packed with insightful activities designed to empower and inspire:
1. Keynote Address on Digital Opportunities: The main address focused on demystifying technology and showcasing practical, low-cost digital tools that local youth can leverage for agribusiness, online marketing, and financial inclusion.

2. Panel Discussion on Partnerships: A dynamic panel featuring representatives from local government, successful young entrepreneurs, they highlighted the critical importance of partnerships. Discussions centered on how collaboration between youth groups, NGOs, and the private sector can unlock resources and create sustainable opportunities.

3. Interactive Tech Demos: Participants got hands-on experience with various applications for mobile money, social media marketing for small businesses, and accessing online educational resources. The demos proved that with a basic smartphone, significant socio-economic advancement is within reach.

4. Skill-Sharing Sessions: The day was not just about theory. Peer-to-peer sessions allowed youth to share their own success stories in using technology, from using WhatsApp groups to coordinate crop sales to using YouTube to learn new vocational skills.
