Radio talk show on Arua One FM on calls to end Child marriage in Arua District organized by International Community of Women Living with HIV Eastern Africa

SCI CEO Calls for End to Child Marriage on Arua One FM Yesterday, Thursday 20/8/2025 Freda Apio, CEO of Selfless Compassion Initiative (SCI), took part in a radio talk show on 88.7 Arua One FM organized by the International Community of Women Living with HIV Eastern Africa (ICWEA).
She represented Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in a discussion on ending Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and improving access to Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR).
A key point raised was the urgent need to stop child marriage, which continues to affect the future of young girls by denying them education, health, and dignity. SCI’s Commitment as an organization is  committed to Raising awareness on GBV and SRHR, Educating communities on the dangers of child marriage, Supporting survivors with care and referrals, Working with leaders, families, and youth to change harmful mindsets
